Much larger week than January has enjoyed, so let’s get right to it.
Bonnie & Clyde
The newer version of the classic kooky robbing and killing lovers, starring Emile Hirsch and Holliday Grainger in the roles immortalized once by Warren Beatty and Faye Dunaway.
Cloudy with a Chance of Meatballs 2
I did not know there was another one. I guess the first one did well enough to warrant a second. So for fans of the first, you get more cloudiness and more meatballs.
Demonic Toys
This one is a Full Moon production, which means you just have to go with it. if you couldn’t tell by the title, it’s about demonic toys that aren’t called Chucky. In the Full Moon universe, these toys have gone around with Dollman, the Puppets from Puppet master and a handful of their own sequels. Get in on the ground floor debuting in Blu with this title.
Downton Abbey Season 4 UK edition
The show is still making its weekly visit to American audiences, but it has already wrapped in the UK, meaning the Blu-ray is already out. I don’t know the differences between the editions, but if you don’t want to wait for it all to wrap up here, get the Blu-ray and binge on this British Soap. Will Mary move on? Will Tom ever fit in? Will Daisy get the respect she craves? Will Lord Grantham remove the stick from his pooper? Who knows!
The Fifth Estate
Story of the wikileaks founders, starring Benedict Cumberbatch. What a great name. But not as good as “Sherlock Smaug Khan.” Or maybe it is better.
Rush
Fast cars and fast lives. Ron Howard (opie!) directed this story of the rivalry between James Hunt and Niki Lauda in the hayday of forumula 1 racing.
Treme: The Complete Fourth Season
A look at post-Katrina New Orleans wraps up in it’s final season. From the brain behind The Wire.
Treme: Complete Series
And here’s the complete series for those who missed out on this show, or want to watch it all over again.
